From "Miss energetic" to "All I want to do is rest"

to be with a woman who cannot feel desire? I use to look forward to
being able to spend our time together because our child is getting
old enough to be self sufficient, but now I only worry what the future
will bring. |
After battling for 2 years, going from "Miss energetic plus"
to "All I want to do is rest" because I was feeling exhausted
all the time, I was totally devastated to find out from my doctor that
my hormone levels are completely depleted and that I am menopausal. The
blood work determined that I was not just menopausal, but am full-blown
menopausal.
I was going to the doctor on a regular basis because my iron was low
and also had B12 deficiency. He was treating me for these things, but
somehow I still could not rise above my exhausted feeling and also by
now my feelings of depression. I asked him to check for other things and
one of them was my hormone level because I was also not having much sexual
desire.
He might as well have told me I was dying because that was exactly how
I felt. My body is not working, I can handle the tiredness, the night
sweats and even the depression, but I am a 47 year old women in the prime
of her life with a decent marriage (at least it was).
Now I am not so certain. What man wants to be with a woman who cannot
feel desire? I use to look forward to being able to spend our time together
because our child is getting old enough to be self sufficient, but now
I only worry what the future will bring.
My doctor put me on Fem HRT, but that does nothing for my libido. I thought
that I would have at least until I was around 60 before losing that. I
am becoming bitter about how life treats a women, and growing old does
not seem so sweet.
Men can get Viagra. What can a women get?
