Advertising Statement

We receive many inquiries about advertising on ProjectAWARE, Association of Women for the Advancement of Research and Education. ProjectAWARE has grown over the years to be a highly reputable and frequently visited women's health website that offers objective and comprehensive health information, especially related to menopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause.

Marketers would say that advertising should be a natural and profitable extension of the site. However, it has been the policy of ProjectAWARE.org NOT to promote products and/or services on the site for advertising dollars. There are several reasons for this.

• We want to be motivated by quality and excellence, not by advertising dollars.
• We have chosen to be a content-driven site rather than advertising driven.
• We are a nonprofit organization under United States 501(c)3 IRS law.
• We prefer to rely on financial donations from sponsors, supporters, and friends.
• We believe that not accepting paid ads increases the our credibility and any endorsements we might make on the site.

This policy is in no way intended as a criticism of sites that do advertise. It is merely a decision we have made as a nonprofit organization with a goal of bringing about profound changes in the "medical management" of perimenopause and menopause and fostering improvement of general healthcare in the lives of all women.
